Childbirth

We feel privileged to be part of your childbirth experience, and together with the staff at the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital, we are happy to help guide you through this important time. Our number one priority is the safety of mother and baby, however we also love to give you a lovely birth experience. We recommend keeping an open mind throughout the childbirth process and please feel free to ask us any questions.

Some women have special circumstances surrounding their delivery, such as planning an elective cesarean section, planning a trial of vaginal birth following a cesarean section, and having the baby in a breech (feet or bum first) position. Circumcision is not performed immediately following birth at CGMH - please ask your family doctor for more information.  We also recommend reviewing the Canadian Pediatric Society information on circumcision:
